AI MODEL AGGREGATION / SMALL-TEAM GUIDES

Evaluate AI-generated game dialogue and narrative

A bounded dialogue workflow for indie game teams, with character constraints, fallback writing and cost checks.

Content updated:

The short answer

Treat generated dialogue as a proposed line, not as authority to change game state. For an indie narrative prototype, send a small scene brief and validate the response against character and format rules. TokenBison provides a model access point; game-state logic remains your responsibility.

Keep the scene contract explicit

Provide the speaker, relationship, known facts and the next story beat. State what the character cannot know and which events cannot be changed. Test a short scene with conflicting player input, not just the expected happy path. If the response invents forbidden knowledge or advances the plot incorrectly, reject it rather than trying to repair state from the generated text.

Separate prose from actions

Do not execute commands embedded in dialogue. If your application expects structured fields, validate them against a strict schema and allowlist actions in game code. Verify structured-output support for the selected model instead of assuming it from API compatibility. Keep a prewritten line or a safe continuation available when parsing fails or the request cannot complete.

Evaluate pacing on your own target devices

Measure time to a usable line from the region and network your players will use. Decide whether to generate ahead of time, at a scene transition or during play based on those observations. Test voice and character consistency across a sequence, not only one line. Include repeated attempts in the cost estimate and avoid claiming measured regional latency without that test.

TokenBison API documentation · reviewed 2026-09-16

The documentation implementation specifies https://tokenbison.com/v1, server-side API keys and an explicit model identifier. Optional capabilities must be verified per model; the shared interface does not establish universal feature support.

TokenBison current pricing · reviewed 2026-09-16

The pricing implementation distinguishes input and output token costs, model billing modes and account groups. This guide gives an evaluation method, not a current price quote or measured savings.

Put the guide into practice

Review current model prices, then make a small API request with public or non-sensitive sample data. Compare the output against your own acceptance criteria.
